2017 Recap and Cheers to the New Year!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I shared on my Instagram yesterday that I took a little holiday vacation from the blog. I took this little break mostly because I was struggling to find an authentic “purpose” with what to post. I also wanted to truly focus on enjoying the holidays with friends and loved ones. A lot of bloggers that I follow post a lot about holiday shopping guides or super cute sweaters (that you actually want to buy for yourself when you SHOULD be shopping for others). Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! I also feel as if I am single-handedly supporting the US economy because of their perfectly styled posts. However, I wanted to stay true to my reasons for starting my blog this year and that is simply to share the things I love with all of you! So THANK YOU, for continuing to read my little ramblings and following along with me!

2017  Recap

2017 was a little weird.. Did anyone else feel this way? 2017 was like an awkward “in-between stage”. Kind of like the way you felt when you were trying to grow out your middle school bangs. I lost a dear friend and 3 beloved fur babies which made the year a sour experience at times.

However, even with the ups and downs of the past year I did have some absolutely wonderful experiences.

– I started this lovely little blog

– I traveled around the country (Nashville, Seattle, Charleston, and Phoenix to name a few places)

– I traveled internationally to Jamaica for the first time

– Got an adorable Goldendoodle puppy (His name is Bo, and he is HUGE now)

– Worked backstage at Miss Teen USA

-AND checked a few things off the bucket list!

One bucket list destination that I have always wanted to visit was The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. I went over my Christmas break and absolutely fell in love! I have always wanted to see the famous designs from the Dorothy Draper Co. and seeing it all decked out at Christmas time was a dream.

Here are a few photos from the trip >>>

Just checked into the room.
Dinner in the Main Dining hall.
I made two new friends on the carriage ride. ❤️
Getting warmed up from ice skating.
A beautiful setting for Tea Time.

Looking ahead to 2018

I am the type of person who sets several goals for the new year. I write them in down in my planner, look at them every day, and for the most part manage to accomplish them with in the year. As I work on my list for 2018, I am curious to know what YOUR goals are for the new year. Do you set resolutions? Do you add a bucket list destination for the year? Also, what would you like to see more of on my blog? Why do you follow the blogs that you do? Leave me a comment below, DM me on instagram, or send me an email. I would love to hear from you!

As always, thanks so much for reading!

My favorite things about blogging is that it really can be an extension of you. Good for you for “staying true to you” and sharing what made your year so special with us…even it 2017 was awkward. 🙂
